My name is Philip and I work as Chief of Staff for an Ethiopian start-up incubator called Kazana. Previously, I have worked 3 years for McKinsey & Company in the Netherlands, A bank in Hong Kong and pursued a MSc degree in Physics & Astronomy.
Recently I moved to Ethiopia to support local startups by providing them access to infrastructure, resources and knowledge. I belief that private-sector growth is essential for economies to become resilient and competitive. This begins with startups converting ideas into businesses, creating jobs and economic prosperity.
My passion lies in (fin)tech, e-commerce, biotechnology and education. But please feel free to reach out about every concept, sector and idea!
I’d love to apply my European-acquired business knowledge to the African context. There is experience I can bring from the multinationals and startups I served during my time at McKinsey, but there is a great many people and ideas I would love to enrich myself with as well.
